CAKEd with Compassion

Did you sign-up for the CAKEd dating pool? I hope so!

Oh you non-daters and non-qualifiers thought you got off the hook didn't you? Oh no... you come right back here and sit in the suffer train- I mean compassion wagon- with us.

Either way, the hard work is done! Sit back and relax while we play the waiting game (or you watch someone else play the waiting game).

in the meanwhile... Why not try the Thirty Day Compassion Challenge while waiting to be CAKEd?

Choosing to live your life with intentional compassion may set the tone for our future interactions and bring a little more positivity into this world.

BY THE WAY- please pass this on to as many other interested people. The larger the CAKEd pool, then the quicker we get CAKEd!

Wait!! What's Compassion!?

I'm a huge fangirl of Dr. Kristin Neff and her work in self-compassion and radical self-compassion. Check out the self-help section if you're interested in reading more info on her research.

At CAKEd, we are focusing on compassion in general, not only compassion towards ourselves (albeit it generally takes a somewhat self-compassionate person to be compassionate towards others).

So, what is compassion?

COMPASSION IS INTENTIONALLY RECOGNIZING SOMEONE ELSE'S SUFFERING AND TREATING THEM WITH KINDNESS

Compassion is sort of like empathy... except it's like one of those wheel cakes that also rolls within layers of

love for humanity

recognition of the human condition

holding space for others

acting with kindness and empathy

lessening suffering in others

intentionally

Feel free to cite these pontifications pulled out of my *ss.

Sometimes, when we look beyond ourselves towards helping others, we find that we become part of something bigger. Small acts of kindness and empathy can transcend and make monumental positive impacts on our collective humanity.

Try this 30-day calendar. Set an intention everyday to do one of these activities for someone else. What changes? What doesn't change?
